today is the 24th. two days from now, i'll be eighteen...and legal.

last year, when i turned seventeen, i told my friend Alds that i'll choose to remain sixteen because Chinese superstition says odd-numbered ages are unlucky. so right now, i'm sixteen, turning eighteen. since eighteen is an even number i have no choice but to be eighteen.

these are the last two days that i'm going to be a minor. crap. for seventeen years, i've used it as an excuse for my being irresponsible, apathetic, tamad...even for being vertically challenged. i've no excuse but to grow up. (Dearest God, please make me grow tall, too.)

so what will actually change now that im turning eighteen?

1. I can now go to jail.
2. I can now buy FHM. (not that i want to.)
3. I can now drink alcohol and liquor at restaurants and bars. (i'm betting i'll still be asked for my ID since i look twelve.)
4. I can be forced to have intercourse with a 40-year-old and he won't be charged with statutory rape, much worse, people will think it's consensual. (yuck)
5. I can use my right to suffrage. (best reason for turning eighteen! wussshu..)
6. I can watch bold flicks. (not that i also want to.)
7. I can appear in bold flicks and my manager won't be sued for exploitation.
8. I can pose for FHM. (not that they'd want me on their pages.)
9. I can get married. (not that there's a proposal.)
10. I can drive and get a license. (but then i'm too small to reach the pedal..)

hay.. so many changes. it'll take a little getting used to.. but then, there's nothing the eighteen year-old me can't do. =)
