ON BREAK-UPS, HEARTACHE AND FINDING LOVE...
sometime ago, on the front page of blogspot was an advert on the blog of a so called BreakUpBabe - a blogger who gained notoriety by writing about her love life. she just got herself a column in The New York Times. something good can crop up from a break-up after all.
her blog is comprised mainly of chronicles of - yep, you guessed it - her break-ups. since she blogs regularly, you can just guess how many people she dates in a week and how many she breaks up with.
all around me right now, i see break-ups galore. and i also see the same behavior in other people: when their past relationships don't work out, they go look for someone new immediately. there's this guy i know who's only 15 years old, but has girls coming in and out of his life as if he were a revolving door.
it makes falling in love seem like an easter egg hunt. haha.
that makes me think:
is that how casual falling in love is right now? that when things don't work out you look for a replacement?
i, for one, am perfectly happy without a boyfriend. it has actually been 3 years since i've had one. and i don't feel bad for myself. hey, there are people who've had no boyfriends since birth. i must admit though, it gets a little lonely when you see happy couples passing you by, or with no one to hug when it's Christmas or Valentine's Day...
however, there is no way that i am LOOKING for that someone. i prefer to wait. despite the many times that i've been burned,
i still believe that there is someone out there who'll genuinely love me.. someone as crazy about me, as i am crazy about him.
so people,
quit searching. for the meantime,
love yourself instead.. so that you'll be a better person when the right one comes.. when you become
somebody's somebody.
